Holiday events for Scarborough Centre families

scctreelightingAll Scarborough Centre families are invited to join Glenn at two free holiday events! On the evening of Thursday, December 1, take part in the annual Tree-Lighting Ceremony at the Scarborough Civic Centre. Then, on Sunday, December 11, join Glenn at his Kids’ Christmas Party at Cedarbrook Community Centre. (See details below.)

Tree-Lighting Ceremony

Thursday, Dec. 1, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., in the Rotunda of the Scarborough Civic Centre, at 150 Borough Dr. 

Glenn will be your Master of Ceremonies as you enjoy…

  • Kids photos with Santa (bring your camera)
  • Music by the Toronto Children’s Concert Choir and Performing Arts Company
  • Story Time courtesy of the Scarborough Civic Centre Library
  • Free arts and crafts for kids
  • Free refreshments
  • Free ice-skating (weather permitting)

Kids’ Christmas Party

Sunday, Dec. 11, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Cedarbrook Community Centre, 91 Eastpark Blvd. (south of Lawrence Avenue East, west of Markham Road)

Families will be welcomed into a Frozen-inspired Winter Wonderland!

  • Kids can meet Frozen‘s Queen Elsa, Princess Anna and Olaf.
  • Kids are invited to dress up in their favourite queen, princess or prince outfit, or in their favourite superhero costume!
  • Have your child’s photo taken with Santa ($2 per photo to cover printing). Before Christmas, Santa’s elves will deliver the photo and a letter from Santa to your home!
  • Enjoy kid-friendly fun, including colouring, face painting, and making reindeer hats, buttons and ornaments.
  • Enjoy free refreshments, including delicious cookies and hot chocolate!
  • Make sure your kids take home a copy of my Christmas Colouring Book.
