Bring your household junk to Environment Day, Sept. 23

Glenn’s 14th annual Environment Day is slated for Saturday, September 23, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Thomson Memorial Park, 1005 Brimley Rd.

This event is a great opportunity for you to clear your home of old junk that needs to be recycled, donated or disposed of safely. At Glenn’s Environment Day, the City will accept hundreds of different items, including (but not limited to) old paint, chemicals, pesticides, used cooking oil, batteries, cell phones, computers, printers, stereos, eyeglasses, medical equipment, sports equipment, CDs, books and clothing!

Please review the second page of Glenn’s flyer for a longer list of acceptable items, or visit the City website (under “What can you drop off or pick up?”).

Paper-shredding service returns:
Last year, Glenn introduced a shredding service to help you dispose of, safely and efficiently, personal paperwork that you no longer need. Bring your paper documents, letters and notes that you’d like to destroy, and your paperwork will be shredded while you wait. This service is confidential and free!

Free compost:
If you would like some free compost to nourish your garden, please bring your own container and shovel. Compost will be available while supplies last!

Say ‘hello’ and sign up for Glenn’s draw!
Look for Glenn’s table at the event, and enter his free draw for a chance to win some great prizes, such as Toronto Zoo passes! In addition, feel free to drop by to say “hello” and to discuss any local city matters that you would like to bring to Glenn’s attention.
