Check out our community’s newest splash pad, in Thomson Memorial Park, at the official opening on Thursday, June 22, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thomson Memorial Park is located at 1005 Brimley Road, north of Lawrence Avenue.
At the opening celebration, you’ll see colourful benches and shaded seating areas, and whimsical water features, including a giant frog’s head. On June 22, you’ll also find fun activities and treats for kids and families:
- Bouncy castle
- Henna and stick-on tattoos
- Face painting
- Ice cream and other goodies
In addition to the new Thomson Memorial Park location, you’ll find splash pads at the following Scarborough addresses:
- Trudelle Street Park, 36 Trudelle St.—approved, funded and built
- Woburn Park, 50 Dormington Dr.—approved, funded and built
- Lee Centre Park, 112 Corporate Dr.—approved, funded and built
Glenn’s working hard to have additional splash pads built in the community. In future summers, you will see splash pads at Albert Campbell Square, beside the Scarborough Civic Centre; the Greenbrae Parkette on Greenbrae Circuit; 705 Progress Ave.; and 1 Meadowglen Place, near Brimorton.
